The financial crisis that hit the capital markets worldwide raised many questions on management practices, especially in the MENA region. The impact of the crisis on the MENA region alone shows that countries in the MENA region are no more isolated from, and are becoming increasingly integrated with, the global economy. One of the major reasons for the financial crisis was attributed to poor corporate governance practices applied by public companies.
