Kuwait Hub National and Regional Events

Rola Dashti, Chairman of Kuwait Economic Society (KES) announced the start of Kuwait Business Hub (KBH) activities for the year of 2009. Dashti said that Business Hub which is under the Umbrella of KES and a founding member of the MENA Businesswomen’s Network is expanding its activity from national to regional.
KES is partnering with government and non-governmental foundation to present a unique partnership example and to promote underprivileged Kuwaiti women SME’s in the Arabian Gulf region. It is a vital role for KES to partner with government and others to implement training activities and promote women empowerment in economic fields, said Dashti.
Maali Alasousi, KBH Manager said that the hub activities started April 13-15 by holding a three days training on “Price and Market Your Products” which will be presented by Samar Almusalem with the cooperation of
“Own Efforts Project”.
The training is startup cooperation between KBH and “Own Efforts Project”. Most of the beneficiaries of this training are females who are getting special aid from the Kuwaiti government due to their economic status; also they all have small businesses which they run either from home or from “Own Efforts” production center.
Alasousi mentioned that the KBH also held a one day workshop with the cooperation of the Industrial Bank of Kuwait on “ How to Fund Your Project” which was be presented by Farah Alharoon on 15 –April at “Own Efforts” center. This one day workshop enlightened attendees about the different funds for SME’s which are offered by the government.
On April 21-27, the KBH Manager and “Own Efforts” Manager joined forces to participate for the first time in a regional event in Jadah called the “ Arabian Gulf Women Exhibition” to present products of women artisans. Also both managers presented a successful lecture about “the success cooperation experiences between Kuwait Economic Society as an NGO and “Own Efforts” as a government project”. This cooperation is very successful and unique in Kuwait and in the Gulf Region said Alasousi.
